Ringo!...
Yes indeed!... and that was what I was diplomatically telling you. Sounds like a beauty for sure! I have to mention again, as I have researched the heck out of this stuff.. ( specifically with regard to Buddy Rich! ) .. Buddy RARELY if EVER played the wood model during this endorsement period. He much favored the metal shelled snares, and different varieties too, but settled for quite a while on the Hammered Bronze/SuperSensitive. Ludwig and Buddy were a tad "strained" at this point though, which is WHY they never called any snare drum during this endorsement specifically the "Buddy Rich"... although the Rock/Concert was indeed the same model! Nice drum!... and may I add I don't believe there are all that many out there either. Enjoy!!

Hey Tommyp!
You really know your s**t man!
I have two questions, hope you can help me:
1. you say the Rock Concerts are "rare". i got mine not too long ago, for what i thought was good price (165 Euros here in Germany, about 210 dollars) does that seem alright?!
2. do you know if there's replacement wires for those snares? would it be worth contacting Ludwig for help?!
Thanks!

Wow... at $210.00 American I think that was GREAT buy!! Thing with this particular model is that you just don't see all that many. Ludwig metal shelled snare drums always seemed more popular generally speaking... and again, the #482 Rock/Concert-Buddy Rich wasn't really ever played/used by Buddy.. so there just aren't all that many out there, especially in WMP!
Replacement wires "could be" slightly difficult to replace/locate. Reason for that is the Strainer/Butt: The Strainer as you know, is the P87... the Butt on this particular model however, is the "problem"... it is the "NEW" P34 and as such it featured INDIVIDUALLY ADJUSTABLE snares. So on the strainer end is the standard plate holding the wires, but on the butt end are the individual wires for the P34. I don't know of anyone offering this set-up other than Ludwig. The question is of course: Would Ludwig still have these wires? I would suspect not, but you never know. I would ask around, and/or get in touch with Ludwig and see what they have to say about it. NICE DRUM regardless!, and would be GREAT if you could locate some OEM wires for it.

I'm happy i made a good score, although mine is "only" the natural maple model.
I don't really need new snare wires, the ones now are hopefully working, although 2 of the wires a slightly bent. hope i can fix that. haven't put together the snare yet, waiting for some screws....
I kind of hoped there were some kind of "new" replacements, as i have made really good experiences with for example Puresounds on my 1960s Supersensitive. But i guess i will be fine for now. :-)
