No its not a black beauty, its a supraphonic model thats had its outside re-plated in black. Lots of supras pitted badly, this must have been one of them previously.

You would think that they would plug the extra holes first before re-plating the drum...???

Looks like a really nice spray lacquer job. Very professional.

WOW. Those are great pics to add to a reference library to help identify snares. Definetly a sprayed on exterior finish as the interior retained the basic A-G coating (tank process). Those can't be factory holes by the throw-off.

Did the seller market this drum as a Black Beauty?

Did you purchase this snare with the impression it was a Black Beauty?

Yeah...there is no way that they re-plated the shell. It would have been in a tank and there is no way to control where the plating is deposited. This is a painted drum. If you bought under the impression it is a B/B, you should request ALL your money be returned, even shipping both ways, if applicable....

Thanks for your help, I bought this drum because I thought it was B/B (on ebay). The seller did not write it was B/B, so it's a good occassion, my fault.

Thanks for your help, I will not ask for my money back because it was my mistake. In Poland we do not have such drums so it is not easy to say wheather they are real or not.
