Excellent suggestion. I don't believe that its a coincidence that I bought this stand because my old one did the same thing. Although it was a Pearl and twenty years old. Funny enough I have a 15 x 6.5 Ludwig snare, so the option of a wider basket is awesome.....thanks a bunch for the help.;)

You're welcome, and I know you'd love the Pillar Clutch version... except, while the arms fold and all point in one direction, they don't rotate down so that you have a straight, folded stand. You can either leave it in an L-shape, or detach the basket (which Ludwig suggests.)

I don't handle my gear on tour, so I don't know which to recommend (I think my guy simply leaves it on for convenience and lays it in a stand tray.)
