Has anyone ever seen a Leedy floor tom with normal lugs for top rim and zephyr for the bottom rim.Not the best pic but hopefully enough. This is me with my first drums in 1964.Confused by the different types of lug on same drum. After market? They appeared original.

Great picture. Since the top lugs on the ride tom and floor tom match, and the ride tom has a tacked reso head, I'd guess that the floor tom was originally like this too. Leedy never used Zephyr lugs that I am aware of. Wfl used those early on. That were most likely added after the fact. To verify this, you could pull the bottom hoop/head to see if you can find the tack holes at the bottom of the floor tom shell.

It looks to me as though a previous owner did some modification to the drum. Were the zephyr lugs or the Deco lugs the originals on the tom? My guess is that the upper lugs had been updated.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

My guess is they were added as has been suggested. There is a picture of my set from Mark in the "Show your Leedy" section. It has a tacked head on the ride and regular lugs on the bottom of the floor tom. This helps in further clouding the answer in my mind. Now what?

Hey Jim...it's Aaron Martinez! How ya doin', bud? How are those duco drums coming along? I would have to agree with the others that those are WFL lugs that most likely replaced the original tacked reso head. Kick ass drums and picture!
