Hey all, I have just come in possession of an older 6pc Slingerland kit in a green/blue flame wrap. Sizes are 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 22". Based on the badge, it looks like a late 60's but I'm not sure. I've seen wraps like this before so I don't think it's too rare, but again, I'm not sure. The bass drum hoops have been changed, but I have the original black wood ones. Also, there's a fair amount of scuffs on the bass drum, kind of a bummer. Anyway, any help with identifying this kit and it's value would much appreciated Thanks!
Late 60's Slingerland? Last viewed: 2 hours ago
I have one in the same finish, but I believe yours is from the 70's judging by the black/silver badges and clear interiors.
Badges look like the 73-86 football shape. Few pages to check badges and serial #'s.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

70N "RJB" Outfit with optional 22 bass (and evidently a 16 vice 18 floor) would maybe fit the bill. Looks to be Blue Satin Flame Pearl from around 75ish.
Using the timeline provided by Dr. CJW, that one badge is around 1977. That seems to be about right for the kit configuration referred to.

Post a pic of the whole kit warts and all.
If you are planning on cleaning them up, it would be great to have some before pictures.

higher than my 1977 kit.. 78 is the last production of Blue Satin Flame as well. Sorry can't help with the configuration of those drum sizes..

Yes they are. I was surprised when I saw they weren't all the same serial number. Does this affect the value at all?
Well the closer the better, confirms that it was in fact sold as a kit, I believe that the serial numbers were somewhat of a "lucky dip" out of the tin.. It's rare to find a kit with consecutive numbers on all of the drums..

Here a few better pictures of the kit. I think I'm going to ask $1,500 OBO for it. Does that seem reasonable?
