Last Night's Supra Score

Loading...

I scored my first Ludwig ever last night for 50 beans! Its a supra w/ case from the early 80's, and all original to my eyes. The serial # is 3,10x,xxx would any of the experts here be able to put an exact year on it? Also, what is the best way to clean the shell up without making the pitting any worse? The shell's a little rough but I'm gona be playing the pants off this drum anyway..

Yep, sometimes it's worth asking for pictures! Also, the badge hasn't been played with.. I just took the picture with the camera on my MacBook which flipped it around in the shot lol.

VintageMore thanks for the knowledge! I spent the better part of the morning cleaning it up. Completely disassembled and detailed every part with some Brasso metal polish. I would have done the dawn bath but didn't see it in time and it's too late now. Besides the pitting, I think it looks great.. can't wait to throw some new heads and puresound wires on this badboy!

Sorry I didn't post it sooner! I understand your enthusiasm to get your supra up and running!! Puresound also makes steel snare wires besides their brass models, you may want to get a set of both down the road to see which you like better. or a good ole set of Ludwig or snappy wires will do also. remo white coated ambassador top or emperor, or Evan G1 or G2, or ludwig medium or heavy coated white heads, bottom head either the clear version from Remo, Evans, or Ludwig.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

The fact that Ludwig Supraphonics and Acrolites represent most drummer's 'go-to' snare drums, speaks volumes about the built-in and consistent quality of those drums.

Prepare to fall in love... again!

Congrats on a great score. $50. supra, I'd buy those all day long!

John

Too many great drums to list here!
