Kona is one of my favorite locations on the planet. Part of my 'bucket-list' so to speak was to get myself entered in the Ironman over there and complete the race.....which I did in 1984. I'm Kona1984 on another DrumForum. everytime I do a post here or on the other drum forums where I use this Username I get put in memory of the good times in Kona.

Ok, this one is pretty simple. I love Swing, Big Band and Jazz music and what better set of drums to play then the Ludwig, Ludwig & Ludwig Top Hat and Cane! What can I say? I just love that finish!

Honeymooned in Kona in '92 and couldn't agree more. I'm a coffee addict and I was in heaven!

Not a Guru... just interested..

It's what I do......and what I am.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Back in 75', I was gigging with a band called "The Rorschach Tests". We did local stuff, beat a defamation of character and plagiarism case thrown at us by the Guess Who, and then got signed to tour for awhile mostly off of that notoriety of the big court case (you may remember hearing about it). Our big song was called American Women. (not woman as was claimed by their not-so-smart lead attorney) During that time, our growing fan base shortened our name to the Shachs', when referring to our music during their casual conversations. I then shortened that even further, to hack, to hopefully alleviate myself from any of them pestering me to death for autographs and trinkets........

Actually absolutely none of that is true. I picked a name that was suitable to my drum prowess, but I wish I had some sexy reason to have picked such a ego-deflating moniker......

Drumhack, that is funny and a fine yarn! I would just go with that if I were you. Genius.

Mine is pretty simple. I live in Tennessee and among other things I am a lighting designer. A typical nickname for a lighting guy is "squint" as we are often found looking into very bright lights like complete morons looking into the sun which then induces the involuntary, and somewhat self-preserving "squint."
