The ones we have are different from that one. That one is an earlier version.....the knurled knob is from the mid-1950's onward, which is the style the three of us have....ok? ok. LoLoLoLo

Aha !!........

I have that same snare! Have the matching bass drum too! Cool! Not playable, but definitely a cool display piece!

do you think this is older than 50's, I've never seen that finish before on a drum this old, assuming it is that old. Of course my experience is limited.

1958 Gretsch Kit
1966 Kent Kit
1969 Ludwig Standard Kit
1970 Rogers Power Tone Kit
1970's Ludwig Vistalite Kit

28 assorted snares (including some real crap)
and 1 really nice K Zildjian Istanbul

I think it could be as old as 1920's....the paint however looks like a recent repaint to me.

Look at the snare drum on the "One-Nighter' set -Vintage Drum Guide-1961

Looks like it to me.

Yeah, looks like the "Jazz Combo outfit snare in tri-tone blue and silver lacquer and chrome." Wonder for how long this set was made.
