Is this anything?

A guitarist friend found this on the street. Sorry I can't post a picture, but it's a Ludwig BOP with eight lugs, baseball bat muffler with white felt, Keystone badge 400339, 18-strand snare, and P83 strainer. Finish is in pretty good shape, some chrome parts have mild rust.

It was missing the batter head but has the top hoop and all rods. WeatherMaster snare head still mounted. I'll probably replace that and install a coated batter (I have some extra Evans heads).

He'll probably keep it as the second snare for his studio kit. His primary snare is a beat-up Supra (still sounds good), but he doesn't know anything about drums.

If it looks like this, Black Oyster Pearl, it`s a very sought after early 60`s Ringo jazz fest, if it`s Blue Oyster Pearl,....it`s just a Blue one .

Well, everything is something. I mean, nothing is nothing, right?

But then, everything might be an illusion, and something could be anything?

We've all seen something that we thought was nothing, but it turned out it was really something!

What I'm saying is, pics would be immensely helpful.

Give him a bright and shiny new drum in trade for the Ludwig. Shouldn't matter for his purposes.

It is black oyster and it does look like that. I'll put new heads on and see what he wants to do. And I'll see what I can do about getting some photos up.

Thanks!

I can only go by what he said when I jammed with him last night, which was that he was driving in his neighborhood on trash day and saw it. He was about to leave it until he saw that it was a Ludwig ... that much he does know.

I found my CB700 in the trash when my D506 got stolen, gift from god at the time and the drum worked well. But that,...go see if the rest of the kit is in the yard.
