Here are some pics of the inside of the snare. What strainer would be the right one? Going to start the bass drum repair. Got all the lugs off and put felts in them to avoid any future rattling! What is ideal to clamp against the shell to flatten the surface?

curtis I use wood forums to clamp this type of repair. also blair answered your question as to which strainer you'll need also this is a Slingerland artist snare drum you have here.

I got my bass drum clamped down this afternoon. I wish I had someone here so I could have done pics. I ended up using a piece of like peg board (without the holes) to clamp down on the surface. I was having a hard time finding a flexible enough piece of wood. I hope this works.
