Help identify this Slingerland Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Greetings,

I am fairly new to the vintage gear scene. Bought this Slingerland about a year ago. Was originally identified as 6.5" by the current owner, but it is 7". The bearing edges appear to be in pretty decent shape. Has a few extra holes drilled in the shell for a modern strainer that the current owner put on it. The owner did have the three-point strainer with the drum though! It does appear to be quite bent. Muffler is in great shape.

From the little research I have done, the badge is black and brass that dates from 56-59. Sparkling gold finish is a definite orange-gold. Read that sparkling gold became a confetti pearl in '57, still known as sparkling-gold. Definitely appears to match this description. Unsure what is original to this drum. The drum looks like some of the Concert King's I have seen and that is why I bought it. Got the drum for 100.00

Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum. You did very well.

Your three point strainer looks fine.

I'm no Slingerland expert, but I would guess Concert King as well.

If you're certain it's 7" deep,then it's a Hollywood Ace,not a concert king.It must have had snare bridges at some point also.

The concert king was available in 6.5 or 8 x 14 or 15.
