Hey forum members at vintagesnaredrums.com. I'm a newbee tonight. I have had in my possession for at least 30 year a Vintage Slingerland Marching Band Snare Drum. This drum was painted in white and was stored in an upstairs dusty hole at my old highschool in 1976 while I was a Drummer in the band. The storage area was being cleaned out in 76 and I saved this drum from the garbage man back then. Last week I un-packed this drum after removing it from my parents house attic and thought to myself, I'm going take this drum apart and strip the white paint off. Well let me tell you what I found....Mahogney wood under the paint and beautiful White Maple wood rims. I'm refinishing this wonder drum and found a stamped number inside the barrel. Number is 3307. Upon viewing this site I notice my drum is missing the Badge. I know I'm new here and yes I do have a digital camera, I will provide some pictures shortly. Anyone know what the black stamped numbers inside the barrel means? is this 1933?

Hi and welcome...
3307 is most likely July of 1933...you will be looking for what we call a "cloud badge"...be sure to check the badge page here to see what badge you need to locate...good luck...as you have surmised, photos will always help you to get a quicker response.
