I'm glad you're happy with the Acro, John.

I wanted to update anyone who cares to know that I got the K Con ride Wednesday and it is a definite keeper...after initially thinking it wouldn't be. I tried it with "my" sticks (Pro-Mark Acid Jazz model # TX718W), and the stick definition seemed too light and the undertones seemed to drown it out. So, I tried it with some nylon tip sticks and it seemed much better. So, I went to the local music store and set up at a kit and tried at least a dozen different sticks (including the Vic Firth Peter Erskine Ride Stick that I almost walked out with). The Zildjian Dennis Chambers stick with a small, round, black nylon tip seemed to give it the best "ting" sound that I was looking for, so I got those. My friend that works at the store did some mallet swells on it and it sounded SO GOOD.

Anyway, I played it at rehearsal last night and it sounds very dry from where I'm sitting, and I was thinking I may have to part with it. So, I got my wife to record a sound clip with my iPhone (which has a great recorder). I used an old and new set of Pro-Mark Acid Jazz sticks and the Dennis Chambers sticks. While the DCs sounded best to me, it sounded great with all 3 pairs, not dry at all, just not loud like my Sweet Ride. So, it's definitely a keeper. Now I'm hoping the hollow block stamp will get here today for me to try out at rehearsal tonight.

You guys have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend if I don't get to get back this weekend.

Lynn
