gretsch snare suspect

Hi forum. bin thinning my he(a)rd. I got to this Gretsch snare and not sure what to say. Don't know enough about the history, and need some help. all the hdw looks correct, except badge mount, only orig muff holes, not sure of wrap name finish, no int tag and bearing edge doesn't look gretsch to me. any help would be greatly appreciated. I want sell it for what is. Thanks

Hi johnnyz!

Intriguing drum! The 3-ply shell suggests it's from the 1950's. The same for the double-flanged hoops. If the drum were a little deeper, say 6.5", and the bottom lugs were inline with the top lugs, I'd say this would be the Broadkaster snare drum. Let's see if anyone else has seen this before.

Forgot to mention that the wrap is a faded "Midnight Blue".

Agreed! I never thought about it being a possible marching drum.
