I'm trying to fix up a mid-60s Gretsch flat base hi hat stand, and was wondering if anyone here had any experience disassembling and re-assembling the spring and associated screw on the bottom? It looks like a tension adjustment. But it doesn't seem to want to come all the way out. Does anyone know if it is possible to take it apart for cleaning and lubricaing?
