Good cheap gram scale?

Loading...

I'm getting ready to sell some vintage A's and I need a good scale to weigh the cymbals. Nothing too expensive, 'cos I'm not going to ask a whole lot for the cymbals.

Thanks.

You can weigh them on a regular scale, or get a cheap scale for weighing luggage. Those read in pounds, so multiply by 453.59 to get weight in grams.

My kit:

Ludwig 1124 Spur-lok hit-hat with Ludwig Standard Paiste 14” cymbals (760 & 770 gr) with ching-ring
Two Ludwig Standard S-270 cymbals stands

Yeah, sure you want to weigh cymbals......(insert smiley winky face here).

PS - I'd love to know the weights of my Z's. Just to know.

I bought this to weigh my cymbals and are using it now to weigh connecting rods on engines.

It's small enough to weigh small things pretty accurately but large enough that law enforcement won't suspect you're slingin' drugs.

It's good to 11 pounds.

Check out this web site. I bought one from Old Will years ago postal type for around $30 works great. He's got em all.

Had to find this from an earlier post of mine last year....I use a SOEHNLE kitchen scale that I got some years ago at someplace like WalMart (can't recall exactly where). Its limits are 6 lbs, 10 ounces and 3 kilograms respectively, divided into 1/2 ounce and 10 gram segments - which is quite adequate for me since all my cymbals (other than my medium ride) fall in the light and extra-light range. A very handy little tool as well as cheap (I think it was around $15). And when not weighing cymbals, you can actually use if for what it was intended lol.

Thanks very much for all the replies. I ended up getting the CENTECH, recommended by HowlerMonkey. It seemed the most-user friendly, and was like $19. Personally, I just need to know if my cymbals are thin, medium or heavy.

But I know lots of folks are very into the exact weights, which is why I'm doing this to sell these cymbals.

Thanks again guys.

any hardware store/walmart sells them for $25 under..

I also use my Wii system (with the balance board)

Its also a scale to use with yr wrkout / just change from lbs to kilos to grams..

the best part about this is that when I put the cyms on a small kitchen scale..its REALLY hard to see the display..

On the Wii its displayed on yr T.V..lol

If anyone else is looking, I have one of these and they weigh in both pounds or grams and are very reliable. And only $17!
