Found a complete Rogers set from the sixties

Hello, I'm Rob. I think this is my first post on this forum. I bought a Holiday set the other day I found on Craigslist. The link above goes to the dropbox photo album I put together as I got these home and set them up for the first time. I believe these had been stored in their cases for the past few decades. The name on the road cases is Stan Krell, who I've come to find out was a professional drummer and a Rogers endorser in the early sixties.

I bought these from a guy who buys estates. He bought them from a homeowner out on Long Island who bought these for her son, from Stan Krell, in the sixties.

I've been told the Dynasonic that came with this set is pretty early and pretty rare. Possibly one of eighty that were made that way?

I'm new to the vintage drum addiction, but I have to say I'm glad I found these and this set didn't just end up broken up and sold to the highest bidders on ebay.

As you can see on the tag, the Dynasonic is serial number 3660. No oval badge, just the script logo. It seems to have the original reso head on the bottom. Needs a good cleaning but seemingly in very good shape for a fifty year old drum.

The 12" tom seems to be the oldest, but I'll leave that for the experts. It's got a Cleveland sticker, serial 10880.

The 13" tom has a Dayton sticker, with serial 88281.

The 16" floor tom has a Cleveland sticker, serial number 42570.

The 22" bass drum has a Dayton sticker, with serial

80690.

All drums seem to have the original Rogers heads still, with the exception of the snare. There is one beat up, 14" head in that rolling case though. Hard to tell if it's a Rogers now, but it's there nonetheless.

Also came with all the original, period hardware, two 18" Zildjian rides, one drilled for sizzles. Also 14" Zildjian high hats on the swivo stand. Camco BD pedal. Overall, this stuff is just about pristine. No pitting on any of the chrome, just a little dust on everything.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Now, you're a guy who knows how to make an entrance. You took the air out of the room with that drum score. Congratulations for getting that beautiful set of Rogers with all of the great go-withs.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Nice find. The Rogers book shows a picture of Stan krell

With the same color kit but 1 up 2 down. He was also

Left handed. He was a Rogers endorser from 58-64.
