Purdie...you are a class act, my man. One of the most knowledgeable and one of my faves here on VDF. Kudos, John.

Two weeks... 1967... Cafe' Wha?

All I remember is; the girls... they packed the club night after night just to see/hear the Spoonful. The place was packed to the rafters with hippie-chicks on the prowl. The stage was part of the display window in the front entrance of the club. I played those gigs in the front display window of the place with my back to the street. I kept looking over my shoulder to see what was going on outside. On week-ends, the line to get in wrapped around the block! People were knocking on the window trying to get my attention all night long, every night. Fun, but not easy gigs to play.

In terms of the feminina's, it was good being a musician in any working band back then... band3

Too many great drums to list here!

Well what do ya know!!!!!

Last night I scored a Luddy Speed King in a flip deal. It was a killer deal that will immensely help me pay bills.

....and now today I have been able to check it out - great tight shaft and action that is smooth as silk. this one won't even need any rehab.......Ahhhhhh.....nice! Gonna have to keep this part of the flip!

....and so the story ends with John getting a SK after wanting one for over (a long time) - several decades. That and (Mike selling his SK?)

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
