I don't think it's fake, but insanely overpriced.
Looks real but a little on the high side for the quality.
Do you mean the Grommet being not being centred between the lugs?.
Cheers
The wrap starting to crack is a good indication of real Rogers wrap from that period. Common for the wrap to dry out and start cracking like that.
The D on the throw is what Dynasonic used as well. They have a slight notch in the throw to lock in place since the tension was not needed with the snare frame.
I'm tempted to go see it this week. I know one of the guys that works at this store. Not to buy it, but just to get a peak up close.
I don't think it's fake, but as the others have said, it's at least $600 overpriced. If it were a 6.5 they might be close, but even that is a stretch. I don't happen to care for that wrap either, no matter how rare it is. I've got a Champagne Sparkle wooden Dyna-sonic that is in mint condition, and I paid $1900 for it. It's a great sounding drum, but to be honest, my much less expensive WMP Powertone sounds just as good.

Thanks for all the response
How do you spot a fake Dynasonic ?
(I heard about the guy in Canada )
I went to see it yesterday, actually both of them. They have a WMP one as well. My friend from the shop let me take a good look. I'm far from having the knowledge of so many people here, but what I saw led me to believe they are real. Apparently they are both from Nashville.
