Beautiful rare drum!
Early 60`s Pre-serial Acro-phonic? or Supra-Lite? or what? Last viewed: 32 minutes ago
Harold, I have a pre serial number Super Sensitive with the same shell finish. I come across these shells once in a while. I think the company was making these shells for a short period of time. In the early 1960's aluminium was touted as the latest greatest new metal and the Ludwig was attempting to integrate the new cost saving shells into their line. The original acrolites which were all aluminium, and the brushed aluminium shells were tried out, and the shells like you and I have.
Hi Guys!
1. Thanks Gerald, It looks beautiful actually, very "classy"!Yes Sir
2. BEC! thanks for the info, It was driving me nuts.. DOH The fact that the shell looks like factory finish, totally original grommet & badge...No one could do a "de-chrome" or polish work without leaving any trace!!
Your confirmation of other baby like this - although it's a S.S.- gave me the hope of be in front of a "rare" one (I guess this term could fit here) and not be a fake...
Anyway, as you may see, It´s a very nice snare above any other condition.!!
Thanks guys!
