thanks. hope to be hanging on to it. I had to trade a pristine 6.5 keystone badge supra to get it. supra was worth more but figured i'd have a better chance of finding another one of those than this acro.

Couldn't it just be a Supra that someone removed (sanded off) the chrome as has been discussed here several times? I know the badge looks like an original installation, but badge grommets can be installed like original and with age would look original.

Hi Gary!
That could be a chance.... As soon as it arrives, I'll dismantle it and I'll see any clue of this.
I still keep the faith that this one is a "rare"...Laughing H

+1 Gary,thats what I think.Sanded or sand/bead blasted off the chrome,and a smoothing out of the shell,without a final polish.Grommets can be aged,and the KB,reinstalled.
Is the shell spun seemless,or welded. This is interesting,I wonder what Bun would say.

Yep, everything is possible, I know.
I guess we might wait till the snare arrives.... Thanks all of you guys
Like Tom Petty said, The waiting is the hardest part!
Hi fellas!!
As I promised, as soon I received the snare, I disassembled, surveyed and cleaned the baby.
I have not been able to find any clue about "de-chrome" or polish or something like that.FYI
Some areas as "under-lugs", crimped snare beds, etc. seems in flawless condition, with no rare-trace or anything.
Badge is "ultra-tight" and a detailed view of the grommet, from the inside of the shell - shown in a pic bellow- is 99,9999% sure belongs there from the birth of the shell.Yes Sir
Bearing edges looks like in factory condition, and every component of the snare (besides heads, wires and the front slide plate of the P83) seems like they belong to the right era ...
So, which are your thoughts....help DOH
Thanks in advance Guys!
It seems perfectly chrome stripped supra shell to me.
Badge is too shiny, with look like traces from buffing around it

Hi!
Badge was carefully cleaned by me when it came home... it was full of "grime". I used brasso with a Qtip.
