Well, here's a guess based on information in "The Slingerland Book." The black & brass "niles" badges were used between 1960 & the "mid-60's" and for the first year or two there were NO serial numbers on the badges...so, since yours has the serial number that would put it somewhere between approx 1962 & 1965-ish....the book says the black & silver "niles" badges were used "mid-60's" to early 80's...so exactly what year begins "mid-60's" would be the question to narrow it down any closer. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the replies, Fish and Johnny! Pretty much falls in line with what I found online. I have the Ludwig book, but it looks like I need to pick up the Slingerland book now! I was just going off the tools and articles found online. Any guess as to the model name or is there even one?
