Tell me there is no serial number on the supra! I was looking at the close-up photo and I don't see one. If that turns out to be a COB... we can all go home! Nobody will ever make a score this huge again.

Congrats on what is already, the score of the year. If that 'Supra' turns out to be a 'Super,' then you really 'Stepped in $hit!' :p

Too many great drums to list here!

Beautiful Kit! It looks like the BD pedal is even sporting its original white nylon strap. Now all you need is a Maple finish Aristocrat to set off the BD hoops. Or Precision might be able to come close to matching the Walnut stain. Here's a shot of their Walnut finish drums.

Haha, I've been keeping my eyes out for the snare.

I actually have 1 of the original BD hoops and 8 T-rods/claws Just liked the idea of matching hoops while I hunt the other one.

They're actually an Ebony stain, but I bet precision could match it.

This tread handles the difference between Ebony and Walnut.

I borrowed the picture from Dolfan,... hope you don't mind Steve.

On every picture of a natural Camco finish i've seen, the color-appearance seems to be different.

Very hard to tell sometimes.

Looking at the catalog finishes, I would say yours is Ebony but looking at this Ebay listing you'd say absolutely not,...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Camco-60s-Vintage-Oaklawn-Badge-14x14-F-Tom-Drum-Original-Ebony-No-Extra-Holes-/200983912152?pt=Vintgae_Drums_Percussion&hash=item2ecb931ed8

I'm afraid that without seeing them in the flesh and compare them next to each other, it's very hard to tell.

We've seen so many oddities in Camco's manufacturing, I wouldn't be surprised that they changed the color of their stains from time to time.

Also things like lightning, camera settings, lenses and screen settings complicate things enormously.

If I minded I wouldn't have posted it. That's what it and the forum are for, to help!

Like Stedi has mentioned lighting in a pic can be deceiving. The 12" ebony tom I purchased on Ebay. The pics looked like it would be a perfect match for my walnut kit. When it arrived I couldn't believe how dark it was.

Ebony stain is quite rare. I currently own the lone 12" Chanute tom and a 6.5x14 Oaklawn snare in ebony stain. Not a sexy color IMO and probably the reason it's rare.

yeah lighting is deceiving. I feel like its an ebony still because it doesn't seem like a walnut would match it. But its really hard to tell.

Does any one have a walnut Tom they can send me pictures of (maybe the cameras settings too so I can mimic the shot to compare)

Here's pictures of the hoop and the 13" next to a Keller shell that has a walnut stain to show how "gray/black" it is in comparison. I'm sure the minds on this site can help :)

I am 100% positive that my kit matches the darker tom. I assumed it was walnut at first but when I was looking at Walnut kits it didn't seem right. I actually used that thread to come to my conclusion

Good guess, but clearly walnut stain. Ebony stain has got to be one of The most rare Camco finishes.

That pic from the side looks like a walnut kit with an ebony stain bass drum.
