Very subjective but here are my top three:
1. Buddy Rich, Rogers, "Swingin' New Big Band"
2. Philly Joe Jones, Gretsch, "Porgy and Bess" (Gone, Gone, Gone)
3. Joe Morello, Ludwig, "Time Out"

Wow. Incredibly hard to make up my mind! Not in this particular order:
Buddy Rich: Blues Caravan (Rogers)
Joe Morello: Time Out (Ludwig)
Jake Hanna: Woody Herman '64 (Gretsch, perhaps Slingerland; custom made fiberglass snare drum, reportedly)
Buddy Rich: Mercy, Mercy (Slingerland)
Roger Humphries : Horace Silver, The Cape Verdean Blues (unk)
Kenny Washington : Arturo Sandoval, I Remember Clifford (unk)
Louie Bellson: Thunderbird (Rogers)
Harvey Mason: Herbie Hancock, Chameleon (Yamaha)
Buddy Rich: Harry James, Wild About Harry! (Ludwig)

This track reminds me of just how versatile those Luddys were! When you think of Ringo, Bonham, and Mitch Mitchell sounding and playing completely different on pretty much the same drums! IMHO, the sound that Joe and the engineer got out of these Luddys is as close to perfection as you can get. Joe plays his butt off too. Thanks for sharing rc.
Philly Joe "Kelly at Midnight"
Anthony Williams on Nefertiti
Art Blakey on Soul Station
Louie Bellson 1957 skin deep. stellar!!!! :)
