Auction says 1960s, could it be late 60s with a left over KB drilled shell that got the BO badge?

Possible that the shell was cut down from a tom or marching snare?

I agree, the badge looks low.

There have been quite a few sitings of late 60's Jazz Fest's with the centered hole but with the Blue Olive badge. Common wizdom is that they were left over KB shells that they just put the newer badges on even though they look funky.

if you actually mean the badge itself looks funky? , it looks real to me.

if you mean the vent hole placement then i aggree with mike. i read somewhere (possibly on this forum...) that when they went from the keystone to the b/o, the airvent hole wasn't changed to the new position for the badge. so there are other snares out there were the badge looks too low.

i'm sure better qualified ludwig historians will chime in here.

Exactly correct. It's a 1969 drum.

it looks good to me

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
