James -- I hope it works out for you. I see no point in keeping this stuff "secret." I've learned a LOT from people on this site....no charge!

It's possible to finish up with some Mcguire's (sp?) wheel polish, but it doesn't seem to add much, IMHO.

But I do use a 'metal sealer' to help preserve the finish. I can't remember the brand. It's listed on classic car sites.

I have also covered some with clear polyurethane for protection, and it doesn't seem to affect the shine. Your mileage may vary!!

But what the heck? It could be sanded off if necessary. I THINK.....
