70's Ludwig concert tom value Last viewed: 1 day ago

Hello Ludwig fans and fellow drum fanatics,

I'm going to look at a drum set tomorrow that is a hodge podge of makes. I'm actually most interested in the Black Jack (MIJ star I believe) bass drum and what looks like the a star hi hat stand. The kit looks to have 2 Ludwig concert toms (12" and 13" are my best guess at size) with Blue and olive badges and maybe an old Ludwig stand. I know little about Ludwig drums other that what the badge and lugs looks like. Assuming the toms are 70's Ludwig in good condition any idea on the value so that I can make an informed offer? Anything in particular that I should look for to verify these when I look at the drums? Pictures from the add attached.

thanks,

tom

Actually those toms look nice. Possibly 6 ply maple. I don't know much about the Star and value of those MIJ kits but unless that kit is in really small sizes I think those Ludwig toms may be larger than 12" & 13". They will sound good though. Looks like there may be a really decent Sizzle cymbal there. If it is a Avedis A or a good Avedis that would be nice to have. Either cymbal.

Hard to know the lot value until you find out what cymbals those are.

Look on ebay and see what concert toms are going for these days. I would not pay more than $80 for them if they are really clean.. But that's just me.

Maybe you can get all of it for a song? according to the seller.
