Well i decided to give my self some lud's for xmas and spread some cheer around. These are real deal barn fresh.

i had this lady come to me in a panic trying to find some playable drums for christmas for her son, when she told me her buget i said sorry there is not much i can do for you with a budget like that, she was just about to walk away then she told me that she had some old ludwig in her barn and they belong to her dad and he bought them new back in the day and now they look very bad. So i offered her my time to go see them i was sure i was going to see some mit drums just like i did 1000 times before, but this time i had to belive her she started to cry when she told me the stories about her dad and his drums, the girl just about made me cry. Just one glance at the drums and looked back at her and said now you can those real playable drums with cymbals. It felt like i just gave her the mircal that she was waiting for. The cool part for me was i got the best hug ever! and they were going to be my oldest luds to date and they are pre serial numbers and the snare is cob very cool!. well the kit is intact with no modifications

missing a few part's that i have in reserve. The drums are very rough and will need all attention and it has a 22" stambul ride cymbal that i dont care much for. i'm floored as to why the muffler's are different on one tom and the snare. Any info on this one guy's would be great cause when i'm done i will be inviting that lady back for coffee and showing her how her dad's drums look like new, cause that poor woman she has serious regret's for not looking after them better than she did. With me drums are not allway's about profit and trade this is why i do what i do.

Nice Christmas score dude! Guess you'll be polishing over the holidays? Curious what kind of deal you made with her. Wondering if second tom was an add-on as well, what with the consolette mount.

Geesh,

we were just talking about Oyster Pink, and up pops 1 today...........

You can see the 1 tom was added, and it doesn't match.....

Sell that one off,and make the kit the way it came.............1 tom on the BD

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

It's like watching lightning strike twice in the same spot! Two weeks ago I scored my 63' pre-serial SBP's that came with a COB Super, that was 1x - and now 2x's scored a 63' with a COB and made it; 2x's! :D

Better yet, polish up the tom that doesn't match and give it back to her to keep in remembrance of her dad along with a nice framed picture of the kit all cleaned up and lookin like new. THAT would be the thing to do!
