Wanted to share the before and after pics for the $30 8x14 snare I bought at the antique shop up the street.
There were vintage parts around in the cave, so I wrapped it, and installed said parts. It sounds great, and will be playing music again.Clapping Happy2

It was harder to post the damn pics than to overhaul the drum. That they are reversed doesn't surprise me. Joke accepted.

I posted pictures of the "before" drum back in April. I had hoped the experts could shed light on what company made the shell. There was no badge or name anywhere on it. Just some stamped numbers inside.
I kind of thought it started life as a middle school marching drum. Generic I tell yah. But the shell and re rings and edges were in great condition, hence the resurrection.
Before: total shelfer and unplayable...After: ready to play. Nice job.
