Here are some pics of my new Ludwigs. I can't complain about the price of FREE!!!!

I just picked up some new heads and I still need a hoop for the front of the bass drum. I will make one to use until I find a proper hoop for the kit.

It looks like it could be their top of the line Classic series which I think is 3 ply maple. If that is the original wrap with no extra mods or holes it could be worth quite a bit. If the kit has been without heads for a long time or stored wrong the roundness of the drums could be an issue as well as the condition of the behring edges. You can check the roundness with a clear head by spinning it on the drum and checking the gaps. I would take one of the shells to my nearest local drum shop to at least find out what their made of.

Now that that I think about it, they probably are not worth much and sound like crap so I will do ya a favor by taking them off you hands so you don't trip on them in the middle of the night when you get uo to use the bathroom. I would even give you double what you paid.

they are 3 ply maple shells and were stored indoors with heads on them. I would love to find the missing tom. I believe it should be an 8X12 as the mounted tom I have is a 9X13.

Even though it does have a double tom holder, that 13" tom belongs there. The position of the B/O badge tells us that.

Heck, I'll beat that! I'll triple... no I'll quadruple what you paid!

Sweet! I don't remember ever seeing that wrap in person. I did see it in pix. Very nice indeed!

You know, it's always better to give than receive. Just so you won't feel bad, I'll still take 'em off your hands. Laughing H

I'm so good on you free-loading types. I have friends who've paid $10 for vintage strats and other friends who've received drums, gratis. WHERE'S MINE??!! Well, at least it was JUST a Lud-kit. (Ha, ha.)

CONGRATS TO YOU!!! YOU ARE THE NEW OWNER OF THE 70'S EDITION OF THEIR BLUE OYSTER PEARL WRAP/AKA"BOWLING BALL" FINISH. i WISH THE

MAJOR DRUM COMPANIES WOULD WAKE UP AND RE-ISSUE SOME OF THESE

WRAPS, SUCH AS YOURS. i OWN A 1966 LUDWIG BLUE SPARKLE SET, WITH

2-22" BASS DRUMS. i PAID A WHOPPING $200.00 FOR A FEW YEARS AGO.

i WOULD ALSO SEEK-OUT THE OTHER RACK TOM TO COMPLETE YOUR NEW FIND. lATER, YOU MIGHT LOOK FOR AN 18" FLOOR TOM TO EXPAND YOUR SET. THESE ARE ON E-BAY ONCE-IN-AWHILE. I AM CURRENTLY SEEKING A ROGERS SET IN WHITE MARINE PEARL, TO COMPLETE MY COLLECTION OF

AMERICAN-MADE DRUMS FROM THE 60'S. I HAVE ONE SET OF '65 SLINGERLANDS WITH A RARE 20" FLOOR TOM, MY DAD'S '65 GRETSCH SET

THAT HE BOUGHT NEW (THESE ARE IN CHANPAIGNE SPARKLE). i'M HOPEFUL

THAT YAMAHA WILL WISE-UP AND RE-ISSUE BETTER QUALITY ROGERS SETS

IN SUCH WRAPS AS MARDI GRAS, AND WINE RIPPLE. ANYBODY OU THERE

HEAR ANY NEWS ABOUT WHAT YAMAHA IS DOING WITH THE "NEW" ROGERS??
