1968 Ludwig Champagne Sparkle Kit
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

wow, I just had to go and have a lie down after looking at that. Nice!
I am going to play them at indoor venues with a decent size stage. Nothing outside. There is this one band I play with that performs in some nice venues.
So mostly on that gig. In fact tomorrow night. I figured the 14"x14" floor Tom would be the money drum. And the snare. I am definitely keeping these. I have to sell a kit or two though. I guess I am going to put my Premier Resonators on eBay. No one here seems interested in them. And yes, the Champagne wrap fade is negligible. Going to look great under lights. Maybe I can make a stage pic tomorrow night.
Nice man! 24/18 are great sizes! Just play a 4 piece! LoLoLoLo
Hey man swap the floor toms to go 18" 14" like Krupa. I did it with my 18" and 16" when you play those big band floortom rhythms is sounds so different. Think like a tympanist.

Yes, I mentioned I could play those as a four piece using either floor. Never thought abut swapping positions with the floors. Interesting idea.
May play around with them in both configurations before I break them down for the gig tonight.
Played them last night on the gig. Wow. Still a little fine tuning and breaking in the heads a little but they looked and sound fantastic. They looked beautiful under the lights.
I went back to the seller and picked up the other 13" tom and a 16" floor tom, plus a few other odds and ends. To bad the 16 was not a Ludwig but it works.
Of course I will never haul this set up around but had everything cleaned up and thought I would make a pic of the whole family and red headed step child.
I see no red headed step child, lol. Wow that kit must eat up a lot of floor space with the 24, 18, 16 and 14, plus the 12/13 combo on a stand! Looks great though. Very jealous.
Beautiful family you have there! My goodness, Im in love with that set. And the Slingy fits in fine, color looks great. If you ever want to part with it, call me first, I have lots of stuff to trade and cash. I know you wont so heck, enjoy them! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
