You're probably right, but the price wasn't bad. $189 plus tax, free shipping. That's half the price of any other jazz fest. Still, it'll go back if it looks like crap.
So this did end up being a stripped duco. You could just barely see a little paint here and there. They did a pretty good job on the clearcoat though, so it was a nice drum. Visually, I can't see a later thermogloss drum being that much nicer looking. But of course from a collector's standpoint its just not the same. It had a P85 instead of the P83 as well, but on a player's drum that's not so bad. Anyway, another member was interested in having it. So it was sold instead of going back to GC. Here are a couple pictures that I took.
