1948 Ludwig Drummer April Fool's Joke

I've had these Ludwig Drummer magazines for years and never noticed this until today! This is from the Spring 1948 edition and was the last page of the last Ludwig Drummer ever printed. I'm guessing this was someone's idea of a April Fool's prank, maybe. Really crazy and I thought you all would get a kick out of it....
