Help ID'ing old drum set Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I'm wondering if anyone can help me identify some possible brands for an old, cheap drum set I had in the late '60s.

From the picture, the tom and bass appear to have had only 6 lugs each. It was a blue sparkle finish with very inexpensive hardware.

The one feature that made it unusual was the ride tom attachment. There was a round tube that slid into a hole in the tom. The hole in the tom was surrounded by a silver colored threaded male fitting. There was a tapered cylindrical screw collar on mounting arm that screwed onto the threads on the tom fitting.

Sorry but this is the only photo I have.

Does that ring any bells with anyone?

It looks close to my 1968 Whitehall Drums I got for Christmas. My snare had a single lug and I can't tell really but yours may have top and bottom lugs on the snare. Cymbal placement looks the same. Tom Mount looks similar. I loved those drums. I think they were 20"12"14" 14"snare. My Father sold them when I got my Hollywood Ludwig kit in 1971. I know who had them and may still be ble to track them down. That would be a emotional reunion if I could find those again.

First set I had a hi hat with. Looks like it had slid over while I was playing in the pic.

Jeez, the tom mount arm's ball & socket thing made me think of an old Powersonic kit I had.

I really have no idea when they made those drums....all I can tell you it was the early 80's and they were already well used by the time I got them.

No more beards!

The kit in my pic are definately 1968/69 as I got them new and was there. pic. I still dress like that. Yeah baby. Not really. But should. To bad you can't see the red socks.

I have a better image of the mount. Actually still have it as I added a Apollo 13" to the set and mount was changed. Nice little bass/tom mount. will find and post.

Your set looks like a Pearl made set from the late 60's.It could be one of 50 names that Pearl sold them under..It looks like the mounted tom had single lugs on it.Mikey
