Well look at it this way,..If I put a drum up for sale and it had four mount holes that I put there and the rail was missing, I couldn`t say it is original, or sell it as original because it would be by definition a players drum.

If I sold a drum that had four mounting holes that came from the factory that way and put the original missing part, or an era/time correct one back on, or sold it with the missing part, I could still say it is original and not a players drum.

Now the drum is advertised as one rail and the one with two makes it special ordered...but original and not players....Right ??

If you can produce a receipt from Ludwig indicating the custom order and that the work was done at the Ludwig factory, then you might be able to get away with having the extra rail. If not, then the claim of "original" would be nearly impossible to make. So many of those added pieces were done at the local music store or by the owners, themselves, that IF there were any factory-produced special orders, they would be more the exception than not.

OK, I understand now,..as a kit (not drum) !!

If I had to choose,..I`d take the Sonor !! :D
