I guess I don't care so much about what he did but just what the point was? seems like an awful lot of money and work to put in to a set with no real value to it. Heck there are plenty of old Ludwig shells out there that could have been used and at least it would have been "Ludwig".
Someone on drumforum is selling a 1976 oyster blue Ludwig set with wrap coming up for around $450. That could have been made better than this set? At least anyone that has any collecting knowledge should know right away that this is'nt real. very odd way to take on a project IMO....

I would file this under the "Mayonnaise sandwich" category.
If you squint, it looks like a ham sandwich, it's got bread, maybe even lettuce. But when you bite into it there's no meat.
I kinda feel the same way about tribute bands.
I will clarify that I do occasionally see tribute bands that the original band simply does not exist anymore.
However, you can still find a '59 ludwig kit.
