61 luddy cob 5x 14 hands down a 2nd would be my 64 jazzfest 5.5 x14

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

When i do a recording session, i usually bring no more than 3 snares. 7x14 Radio king, 70's 6.5 Supra, and 5x14" 60's Ludwig COB. Throw in a tea towel and that covers all of my bases.

Amazing drum. It started out a little muddy, but i had the edges worked on a few years back and now it's incredible. for such a deep drum, the crack is out of this world. Lot's of body..

Depends, but for jazz it's going to be my Luddy Symphonic 902; blues it's either a Supreme Concert (6-lugger) or Jazzfest; heavier it's my COB supra or BB.

Good point...all depends on music of course. Tell me about this Supreme Concert 6 lugger. What's the scoop on this drum? How is it different than a Pioneer? I'm not familiar...

It's essentially a 6.5 version of the Pioneer -- funky, deep sound. It's become one of my fav's. I'm not sure but I believe they changed the name to Pioneer around '60 and it was offered in 2 depths.

Thanks for the info! Maybe one day I'll add one.
