What should I pay for these Last viewed: 8 hours ago

I have this old set here that belongs to a friend of mine. He wants to sell it to me, I need to come up with a price. I don't know the brand.

He has the original bass drum pedal and hi hat. There's a table that sits on top of the bass drum and has a bunch of temple blocks that go with it.

I think the only thing missing are snare wires. The plating on the tension rods and clips isn't good. They are soaking in Dawn right now.

What do you think?

Looks like sea green Slingerlands. They go for couple grand and up for the two drums.

+ 1 on what Bun said.Looks to be incomlete Slingerland Artist models ,30's vintage. They cost a bit.I would PM forum member cooper with better pics of the drum. There should be a Slingerland brass "cloud " badge on both drums.

Looks like the bass drum might be either Liberty or Ludwig & Ludwig.

The snare could be either Liberty or Slingerland. "Professional Model" if it has a Slingerland badge.

The snare drum looks like the one Mark Cooper used to have on his home page until he found the Slingy that is there now. He was positive it's not Slingerland. He says they are maybe British. There's no badges or traces of where badges used to be.

The bass drum is 27". I tried to get some shots of the inside of the bass drum. Those great big vent grommets should be distinctive. Here's another shot of the snare drum, and one of the inside of the bass drum. As you can see it would make a great night light.

OK, now I remember that snare drum! It was hard to see details in the photo but it does look nearly identical to the one I have. It has the flattened tube lugs, which I think are British, possibly Carlton. However, Carltons from this era usually have eight lugs. I'm just not 100% certain that either drum is indeed a Carlton. The mystery continues....

They do look the same, except mine is missing the arm on the strainer and yours is cleaner.

I have never seen bass drum claws like this before. Maybe this is a clue.
