This thread has turned out to be a great one.. Very interesting.. If i may go against my own rules i put on this thread of choosing just 2 kits, i'm gonna throw in one more that i would definitely love to own and have customized, and that would be a drum kit by L.A. based Drum Co. Q Drums.. Some of the stuff these guys are coming out with is incredible, and aesthetically appealing.. I don't know what finish or shell construction i'd get , but the possibilities are endless with those guys..
What modern kit would you choose ? Last viewed: 1 hour ago
First would probably be the Gretsch USA Custom 22, 10, 12, 14, 16.. that way I could have a few tom options available for different situations.
Second choice probably be a Tama Starclassic Maple in those sizes as well. I'm a sucker for maple drums.
A Craviotto kit would be wonderful, but boy would I be afraid to even move those! It would be like Nigel Tufnel's guitar that he doesn't want anyone to even look at Excited

I'd probably go with Ludwig Legacy...with vintage appointments. 1-up, 2-down configuration.

I've had a lot of wood kits and a Ludwig Stainless Steel kit. But I've never had fiberglass. I'm very curious about Jenkins-Martin in "Bonham" rock sizes and Blaemire Green.
+1, JM Drums.
Don't know if they make a 26" BD yet.
Thanks to Mr. Jerry Jenkins
On second thought, 'Bonham-esque' sizes. All 5'6" of me would be better suited for a 24". 24/13/16/18 would be about right!
