Hi Everyone,

I'd like to introduce Walberg and Auge to VDF and will be posting all things W&A as this user. I've made a few W&A announcements with my previous/other user 'jespo'.

Walberg and Auge is now registered as a non-profit corporation for historical and educational purposes.

Our mission:

• To preserve and restore the historical significance and musical instruments of America's most important and innovative drum company.

• Develop a Walberg and Auge book that documents the past and future of W&A.

• Continue the tradition of designing and building Walberg and Auge drum sets with details and perfection-level craftsmanship of the W&A drums built from yester-year.

Lots of exciting things are happening at W&A.

- The first SR# 000001 snare drum and kit have been built by Rob Kampa of Magstar Custom Drums. Rob will be the primary builder of new W&A drums. Pics and official announcement soon to come.

- Anthony Defusco from The Village Drum Shop in Scituate RI and myself have been handling vintage W&A drum restoration work. The W&A website will soon have an online W&A museum with have all things vintage W&A. (pictures drums, hardware and catalogs)

- The W&A book is well into development and should be ready for publishing... hopefully by the end of this year.

I'll leave you with a picture of the new W&A drum badge.

Absolutely! Best of luck to you and all stakeholders. We'll all be cheering for you and many, no doubt, are future customers. W&A is most definitely a brand worth celebrating and reintroducing.

I wish you all the success with the W&A projects. I'm an owner and appreciator of the originals, and am eager to check out the new offerings.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Welcome to VDF!

Very best of luck with all your endeavors and it'll be great to have access to someone who is knowledgeable about W&A drums. It's cool that you're here. Your presence will be a great addition to the site.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Thanks for the support everyone! I'll keep the forum updated with W&A current events.

Headquarters is in Cummington and Boston MA... (or where ever me and my laptop happen to be )

Rob currently lives in Nashville TN and builds drums at his shop. I wish it was closer help in the build process.

Anthony handles restoration work that I'm not equipped to do out of his drum shop/store in RI.

The firm is very remote. :)

I'm also a big fan of the original W&A kits... I have 8-9 vintage W&A sets ranging from 1910 Carry-all to mid 1970s' set (with no hex keys)

The drums and innovations of W&A are what inspired this project. :)

I've also been collecting hardware, kinder instruments, and catalogs.

Feel free to post anything W&A (vintage pics, your kits, ads, catalogs, boxes)... anything...

Everyone had been great.... Thanks again!!

So will the drums be built from hardware and shells sourced from other manufacturers?
