After all that exposure, i'm thinking they're going to use ebay, or some other online used instrument retailer.. Keep an eye out for that as well.. Places like Reverb.com, Ebay, and maybe even Chicago drum Exchange..
Stolen gear - PLEASE HELP!!! Last viewed: 16 hours ago
UPDATE. This is a post a put on Facebook early this morning. I have not posted pics just due to time and I need to start playing for St. Patrick's Day
"I don't know if it will make it this far but we're watching for you." This is a phrase that I have heard many times over the past few days. The sentiment has been shared by many, and most of them people I have never met. The responses have come from as far away as California, Ukraine and New Zealand
At 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 16th, I received a call from the East Haven police department to come down and identify a bunch of drums they had recovered. At this time, roughly 75-80% of what was stolen from me had been recovered as well as several drums that I had not realized were missing yet. There are still several pieces missing, the rack tom to the leopard Slingerland kit, a Leedy snare, a Tama Rockstar 13" snare in sunburst finish and has a backpack case, 1 gray cymbal bag with my cymbals from stock and the two leather cases, most of which is pictured.
All of my hardware, as well as all of my personal cymbals have been recovered, as well as the Civil War snare drum, the bass and floor tom from the Slingerland kit, a Leedy floor tom, roto tom and a few random snares.
As of this time there is one person in custody after being stopped while driving following a tip from someone I have never met spotted my gear in the back of a pickup truck. The individual was being held and charged but I am not able to give any more information at this time because the investigation is still ongoing. The person that spotted my gear has asked to remain anonymous but I have already expressed my utmost gratitude for their actions.
Now, I am asking one more time for your help in passing this message around. I am very confident that the rest of the gear will turn up and people with still keep an eye open till it does but in the mean time, how do I thank the more than 500,000 people that have seen and or shared the post? I am hoping that this will eventually reach all of them so each and every one will know how truly grateful I am. The gear is how I make a living and many pieces have been handed down and couldn't possibly be replaced at any cost. I was hopeful for a decent response when I made my original post but what I got was so far beyond what I ever could have hoped for that I am truly humbled. Thank you to everyone that forwarded my post, passed out flyers locally or searched a website, I am forever grateful.
To quote a very close friend, "for a few days the world became a smaller place". I could not ask for a better group of friends
This is the basis for a good movie script. Congrats so far...

Jump For JoyPartyWalking FANTASTIC, Matt! With one culprit in custody, I'm sure the police will be able to get the necessary information to lead them to the rest of your stuff. Let WFSB Channel 3 know that modern media and the internet helped solve this crime. We need more happy endings on the news. Keep us updated.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
