Slingerland Reproduction Legs? Last viewed: 3 days ago

I need legs for my Gene Krupa Deluxe kit. Does anyone make reproduction legs for a late 50's Slingerland bass drum?

Not sure I've seen those... but a quick idea would be to use the bottom half of a flared floor tom leg.

That angle is pretty darn close.. cut the foot off and some of the top.. grind it a little to smooth it out and you got your self an angled bass drum spur.

Just an idea.. :)

I don't even know what the original ones look like so I don't know what to look for.

ec - poppies sent you to the right guy! Just call him (his number is at the website) tell him what you have and he'll make sure you get the right parts. He's a good man, knows his stuff.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Curtis I think the bass legs from the 50's were like the later 60-70's. Just straight legs with the point and rubber boot. They might be thinner though I'm not sure?

They're just straight chromed legs. I'm not sure theyre thinner than later ones because those Gibralter Floateing feet fit snugly on them.

Hmmm... mine are angled with a flat side that slides into the tightener... the small leg on the table in the picture came off my Slingerland 1N kit.

That's interesting Jim. Maybe there were a few versions? Perhaps a running change as new hardware evolved over the years?
