On Ebay there is a hi-hat with KRUPA on the heel plate. So there is one more combo into the mix.So there might be a pedal with Krupa on there somewhere.V

If it is an epic pedal (the frame at least), than it has definitely been repainted to the AA blue color that was used from '58-67. The Epic was painted black from'34-47 and red afterwards.
MME, as far as I can tell from the Slingerland book, there wasn't a Krupa model bass drum pedal to go along with the hi-hat stand, but who knows? :)

I have 2 Krupa BD pedals. The spring placement is like the Epic, but the beater is reversible to allow you to play your FT like a cocktail kit. I'll post pics as soon as I can...I'm on my stupid smartphone and can't figure out how to post the pics I have.

Cool! Lynn I can't wait to see that pedal!
I apologize for taking so long to get these posted - I got back home from being out of town and then got sick. Anyway, you can see how the linkage can be moved to a different slot on the cam to be played on the reso head of a FT...after flipping the beater to the underside, of course.

Lynn,
Thanks for posting those pictures. That is a really cool pedal design. I had not seen that before. Do you play it much or like the feel?
Thanks again ,
James
You're welcome! I just got these a week-and-a-half ago, so I'm still getting used to them. The big yarn ball beater felt awkwardly top-heavy and slow, so I swapped it for the regular beater and it feels much smoother and faster. Still can't say how it compares to the AA because I haven't played with it enough. Like you said, it's a cool design...and nice to be able to play the floor tom with it too!

I hope this thread hasn't died...
I have an AA pedal, but with an Epic footboard... if I got all this right!
It has the two 'outboard' springs.
I played it tonight a bit, like it very well, but I would like to make the pedal throw longer. It looked like it was longer in the catalog pictures, too.
So, thinking there would be set screws on allen bolts or something, I took a good look. But no; the only thing on there are the set screws to secure the bearings. How do those chrome end caps come off? The round chrome piece with the spring attachment in it. They HAVE to come off some way, right?
I didn't go too far with it tonight, because I started to think it's a press fit, and it might not be a good idea to take a hammer to it... yet!
I've worked on a couple of Slingerland pedals, most impressed with the design and assembly of the Yellowjacket. So... press fit? can't believe it.
???
Hi bfulton,
I'm not sure that the end caps do come off..At least I've never gotten mine to come off..
If you succeed, post some pics!!
Good luck,
James
James -- just posted on the other thread...they do unscrew. But left is counterclockwise like normal, right is clockwise...
I'll try to post pics Monday!
