Hi Supraphonic. I am from Christchurch which is still, "Shakin` All Over". Yeah it is a pity that alterations were made, even back in the sixties. I will try and provide a pic. of my set. The snare is out of view but it is the one shown on previous posts.

Nice! Great color, I bet they sound awesome. I'm not surprised you

get people asking you about them a lot – kits of that quality/vintage

are pretty light on the ground over here.

Thanks very much.

The group`s name on the bass drum had records released in N.Z. on the Top Rank label. The tunes were Dragon Walk and Thunder Wagon . Is that the same group in the photo?

Actually its not the original bridge {repop} but works just the same. I love the color. I think it may have started its life as a 20/13/16 then someone added an extra 13 and 14fl and Dyna. Top hats that were born together usually had logos placed on the opposite side of the right side drum. If you need help with ID'ing the other drums I think we could help {need serials} not that it matters. Some people are sticklers about this kind of stuff {collectors ect} and now you know. But your playing them right and thats what your suppose to do with em.. As PM said, play them. I'll bet they sound great. Nice tubs!!.

Thanks for the helpful information. I have the serial numbers of the remaining drums and it would be great to know the year of manufacture. I have read, "The Rogers Book" and alot of web stuff and have a rough idea when they were made but it would be even better finding out from experts.

20 inch bass Drum 40912, 13x9 tom 39400, 13x9 tom 40339. 14 floor

tom 44112, 16 floor tom 40871.

If you could please tell me which one has the logo facing in, in the pic {drummers right}. My guess is its the 39400.

Yes, you would be right. I can remember talking to the dealer who

imported these drums years ago. He thought they were a special order for a guy who wanted that particular set up. This was a long time ago???

My guess is still the same then. It started its life as a jazz set 20/13/16 and the guy wanted more drums and added the others. Generally Dynas with B&B lugs can be found for a lil less than beavertailed versions. I like the way he did it because you can always put it back the way they were originally just by purchasing a single tom arm. Ya gotta remember the guy was a salesman who said that. Just a thought.
