once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

To me, these Rogers sets are the most versatile, user-friendly, no-nonsense, consistent and well-made drums ever. I gig with a set like this in (guess) blue onyx. I also like the 16 in. tom that gives a little more spread in the tones. They can be tuned anywhere you want. They are strong drums and hold up. The parts (at least on the earlier versions) are all machined steel - very little pot metal to break and strip out. You can still get most parts for these. I have every size and configuration set Rogers ever made in blue onyx. I just love em. I think you have a very nice set there and will serve you quite well in the future. If you need any parts, let me know, I can point you in the right direction or I have a few myself. I also like the black onyx color too. It is much more rare. I believe that you can get new blue, black and red onyx material, so if you need to recover, it is possible. Good luck with those drums - you have a real gem there!

WOW!! That is one stunner of a kit. Congrats on a fine acquisition. Agreed that the matching snare drum would be icing on the cake.
