I am not that much of a fan, but I would sure love to see Carl Palmer's custom stainless steel kit. It's rumored that it is in the HOF's archives I think. It might be that it is too heavy to bother with setting up!

To get this back on track.......isn't Jerry Alison's kit from the Crickets, as in Buddy Holly & the Crickets, on display there too?
When did it go off track? The OP didn't ask a question. He commented on a recent trip to the HOF. Then other posters continued speaking about different groups that did or did not make the HOF. I don't see where this thing has been derailed at all :confused::confused::confused::confused:

We saw ELP open for Tull in Concord,Ca Carl Palmer had the etched stainless set and it is beautiful. Plus he wailed on them pretty much all nite.Great show!

Sorry for the hijack, but that is quite interesting. Are you talking about the kit in the image below? It was built by British Steel to his specifications and he apparently did not take into account the overall weight of the steel gauge and the end result was a seriously heavy piece of gear! As I recall the kick drum actually had handles on it and required more than one person to move it. There was even a story about a drum riser collapsing under the enormous weight. I had thought that kit was long since retired. I am no expert though. Man I would really like to see it!
