Recent Rock Hall Of Fame Visit... Last viewed: 9 hours ago

Last Friday, my wife and I went to the Rock and Roll Hall in Cleveland.

All kinds of guitars, of course, but a few drums as well. First, we saw

Alex Van Halen's white Ludwig set from 1988. It had 2 bass drums with

a flexhose-type extension, so the basses could be turned at different angles.

The next set we saw was in the Beach Boys exhibit. These were a set of

1962 Gretsch Champaigne sparkle, with a rogers metal snare. Lastly was a

Sonar set belonging to the drummer of the greatful dead. Cost $22 admission.

The wife had a meeting several years ago in the great and memorable city of Cleveland, no doubt planning out some military coup or some other silly government thing ... the son and I tagged along to visit the RnRHoF.

Honestly, most of it bored the hell out of us. BUT, the drum kits on display were pretty cool. They had Moon's Lilly kit, Taylor's Queen rig, and several other seriously neato eye stoppers. Hated the rest of the place - costumes and more costumes, papers framed on the wall ... Ooooooooo .... some other gangly bits with an odd idea of organization. Even the drum kits weren't set up correctly. Annoyed the heck out of this anal retentive drummer, I can tell you.

GnR's induction this year, I hope you dont mean Guns and Roses. Most anoying band ever. I hear them on the radio and cant turn the dial fast enough. Rush on the other hand is a good band.

Axl is the most annoying/selfish dude ever and rightfully was not inducted. Guns N Roses on the other hand do have the best hard rock album of the 80's to their credit with "Appetite". Name one better. Im not talking metal, or prog rock, or punk, new wave, etc etc. Straight up "hard rock".

Rush obviously rules as well, but you can't argue about which band is better or whatever...two completely different animals. Both well deserving to be in the hall of fame.

Yes, Guns and Roses. 30,000,000+ beg to differ with your opinion.;)

As far as Rush goes, it is so funny/tragic that they are not inducted by now, I doubt they would ever accept. Actually, I would lose respect for them if they did accept after this long. It would be like a consolation prize or something...........

And Axl was invited, he CHOSE to not show up............ Like him or not, Axl has a line, and will not compromise, ever. Call it being a baby, call it this, call it that, bottom line, he will not bend to anyone's will and it is his his way or the highway, unless, of course, it is~my way, your way, anything goes tonight........x-mas3

To get this back on track.......isn't Jerry Alison's kit from the Crickets, as in Buddy Holly & the Crickets, on display there too?
