Nice drums, those 3 ply clear interior shells are some of the best Luddy ever made,IMO.

The snare is a Supra, and some say that 70 per cent of the recordings you hear from the early 60's thru the early 80's were made with a supra.IMO the one of the best workhorse snares you can buy, even today. If your Hats are K's you got an insane deal.

A little spit and polish and you will have one great kit there.

From Bob Mangrum

Ok. The high hats are k's and are marked Istanbul. I'll get pics up later today. Thank you, everyone for the help. It is greatly appreciated.

Okay, so I think we all officially hate you now... LOL (kidding, of course). In all seriousness though, you scored an unbelievable deal on those - great shells (3 ply maple with re-rings), cool finish, a Supraphonic, awesome cymbals, a set of Ks to boot... Oh, and original Ludwig cases too! ...and it seems that we keep discovering new things daily that make the deal even sweeter! I'm waiting for the part when you tell us that there are dancing girls flying out of the bass drumLaughing HLaughing H

Awesome score... I love it!!! Show us some pictures when you get them all polished up and enjoy the heck out of those! Cool1

that is the most ridiculously superb drum purchase, I have ever come close enough to,to believe is true. i've heard about the 50.00 radio king set etc.---- but with a pair of K hi-hats and the cases to boot! the owner ,at one time must have been quite serious. curious how they ended up being passed on in this way.

hopefully they aren't like Al Capone's car.

Christmas came early for you! x-mas3

I told you before that K is for Kerope, but K Istanbul = $$$!!! I got a great deal on my two 15" K Istanbuls ($200 each), but they aren't a matched set of hihats. They are actually two crash cymbals that I put together.

All I can say is WOW!!! You are a lucky soul! Awesome drum set, awesome snare, awesome set of cymbals, bags, etc...

Congratulations!

Lynn

Lol. I'm glad everyone is so impressed with sweet score. The sweet deals are out there, all you gotta do is ask everyone you see. That's what I do. I went in there looking for old guns or military stuff and came out with a set of drums. Trust me, I'd of rather found guns, lol. But I'm very pleased with this set. Like I said, I've always wanted to learn, so here I go!! Ok, here's a few more pics.

Here's the bottom of the 18"

Here's the bottom of the 20" (minus one piece of duct tape)

Here's the autograph on bottom of the high hat. I forgot to take a pick of the top with Istanbul on it. I'll get of my butt and do that in a minute

Hope this helps, I know they are nasty but I didn't want to touch them until I figured out what to do with them. Thanks everybody.
