Thanks Heraldo,

Prem wood snares have been very elusive to me,so was esp glad to find a Royal Ace 4 by 14 in this finish!

I only have 1 other Prem wood snare...and it's in Silver Star........another cool finish...at least to me....

From blairndrums

Hi Tim,Bought my first Premier kit in around 1987.....even then I thought the LOKFAST stands were super hip looking.....like pieces of art.....Just in the last 2-3 years I have decided to go pretty much entirely Premier....I figure you can drive yourself totally bonkers trying to find Gretsch,Rogers,Ludwid,Sling etc all day long....Anyway....AFAIK....just the "12" on this kit will be pre-International.....I could see in the pics he sent the 12 had a aftermarket Remo...as the metal hoop didn't fit the head perfectly......In roughly 72 hours...I will know for sure though.....I have had three 14 by 14 FT's...and all have taken regular heads.....and pretty sure the BD's take reg heads too....

You're correct that your 20" takes standard heads, though the 12" doesn't.

I bought my first Premiers in 1963 in Rome and my second set... 1969 Burgundy Pearl 18/12/14... in 2009, along with the early 60s 4" blue pearl Royal ace.

Great drums, superb construction and finish.

Hi Ron,

that blue snare looks just like the one I should be getting..same small badge...everything...pics tomorrow!

In the 63 catalog...they show it with small badge...in the 65....the normal, larger one....

I think they will bring them early..just to get the big boxes off their truck...

I will know they are here when Lily the dog starts barking...Roof! Roof! Good little watchdog that she is...

I just picked up a outfit 54 with royal ace snare, its in perfect condition. I got it from the 2nd owner, who got it from the original owner 5 year ago. It still had the original heads on it. Its in black and I removed the batter head on the snare and its like new in there!

Got them....at 3:30 today....

Good news....got here ok.....packed very well!

Bad news....Bd and 12" and 1/2 of the FT have been painted blue inside with spray paint.. :-(

Could be worse though...it's on pretty lightly......damn 70's!

Lucky the snare didn't get it....

Also, snare is missing both set of 12 strand wires......will be fun finding those....NOT.....

I am pretty busy tonight,so will do pics tomorrow.....

I am going to experiment with my new(ish) camera to see if I can up the resolution...and still put pics on here.....

Talk soon.....

Blair
