That's gotta hurt ... Don't feel bad when I was a kid my friend GAVE me his dad's old 5os 3ply bd and floor tom ... Virgin bd that is .. And being a teenager I thought stripping the wrap off and painting it black was hip .. I even asked my local drum shop and they said it wouldn't hurt the value .. So how much would a virgin 50s bd be worth today never mind the floor tom .. Haha gotta laugh ... Green Cadillac snare wow

Nice drum! Looks like the original owner took really good care of his instrument.

I would not use linseed oil on the interior. Linseed oil and/or tung oil are considered wood finishes. I would leave the interior alone. I think it is just as important to store the drum properly to avoid splitting of the interior ply. Avoid overly damp areas and extreme changes in temperature. You can run into problems when the interior ply has too many drastic changes in moisture content.

If you are looking to sell the drum I recommend Steve Maxwell 630-865-6849 that's his cell that he advertises so this is not an invasion of his privacy. He can find you the right buyer for the right price.

Agreed

Steve is the foremost expert on gretsch . I did speak to him when I bought the drum And visited his shop in ny .as luck would have it I didn't get to meet him . But will keep that in mind when I'm ready to sell ..
